The novel itself, on the surface a satire on negative Utopian novels, contains enough truth to frighten even the most diligent head-in-the-sand citizen. A cool weather pattern through the spring and summer months and unfavorable upper level winds were likely contributing factors in the low tornado count for 2014.There are plenty of examples of irony in 1984 by George Orwell. On June 16 th, 2014, a single supercell thunderstorm spawned two EF-4 tornadoes that simultaneously existed near the town of Pilger, Nebraska.
